Welcome to the ECSSMET 2026!

The European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing will take place from the 21st to the 25th of September in Braunschweig, Germany. The Conference is co-organized by ESA, DLR and CNES.

The aim of the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing is to promote and facilitate discussion and exchange of experience and information among members of the various mechanical engineering disciplines and environmental testing community concerned with spacecraft development, assembly, integration and verification. 

The conference sessions are devoted to: 

  • Mechanical architecture, design and engineering  
  • Structures  
  • Materials (metallic, composite, ceramics)  
  • Innovative Structures (damping, deployable, stable, active) 
  • Structural dynamics, including shock and micro vibration  
  • In-flight experiments and flight data  
  • Environmental testing and test prediction including metrology and innovativ instrumentation
  • Innovativ manufacturing  
  • Thermo-elastic design and verification methodologies
  • Sustainable Spacecraft Structures including demisable structures

Scientists, researchers, and engineers from all over the world are invited to participate in this international conference. 

The conference includes: 

  • Plenary and splinter sessions 
  • Poster sessions 
  • Round tables
  • Technical exhibition

Abstract submission is closed now! 
Notifications regarding submitted abstracts were sent to all submitters on 5 June 2026.

The early-bird deadline has been extended to 31 July 2026! For more Information see here.

Registration will close on 24 August 2026.
