Registration Guidelines for Participants

Confirmed registration is required to participate in the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET 2026) in Braunschweig, Germany.

BESL Eventagentur GmbH & Co. KG is our external partner for the participant registration and is also responsible for the invoicing and collection of participation fees. Please check the full information, fees and deadlines on this website.

We kindly ask you to provide the requested information in the required fields in the registration process. Upon the completion of the registration process, an electronic confirmation of the registration will be generated by the system and automatically sent to the e-mail address provided by the user. Please check your spam folder.

DATES

Registration is possible only via the registration tool of this website.

Registration will open on 08 June 2026.

Registration will close on 24 August 2026. 

After 24 August 2026, registration is no longer possible. If there is a special case of exception,
please send your e-mail request to the organizational office ECSSMET@dlr.de

Registration Fees for Participants 

 *Student: please, send your Certificate of Enrollment as a verification to VMSSupport@dlr.de 

Please note:
For all scientific events with a social programme, the German Aerospace Center is obliged to split the participation fees for the event into a VAT-exempt and a VAT-liable portion in the invoice for the conference fee, since both VAT-exempt and VAT-liable services were provided for the participation fees.

Therefore, the breakdown of the amount is for tax reasons only. 
Each participant of the ECSSMET 2026 Conference can book only the complete programme of  ECSSMET 2026.

As organiser and host of the ECSSMET 2026 conference we must include this information on the participation fee invoices in accordance with the German tax regulations. Every participant of this conference pays the total amount shown in the invoice (no VAT for participants).

All participants and delegates must register for the ECSSMET 2026 Conference
in full according to the categories and rates outlined below.
Participants and delegates can register for the conference only via the registration tool of this website.

The participation fee for all participants, Speakers, Poster Presenters and students includes:

• Admission to the whole scientific programme of the conference (21 – 25 September 2026)
• Coffee breaks and lunch (21 – 25 September 2026)
• Participation in the Welcome Reception at the Steigenberger Parkhotel
  on Monday, 21 September 2026, with beverages and food
• Optional Guided Tour to the DLR premises on Friday, 25 September 2026

The conference fee does not generally include:

• Hotel accommodation, which should be booked separately
• Conference Dinner on Wednesday, 23 September 2026

Please note:

The ECSSMET Conference Dinner will take place in a charming restaurant located in the heart of Braunschweig,
on Wednesday 23 September 2026. It is a perfect opportunity for interested delegates, students to network
with international colleagues. Accompanying persons are also welcome.

Information about the dinner venue will be available on the website shortly.

The ECSSMET Conference Dinner is a ticketed event. Registration and payment are required to attend the Dinner.
During the registration process, you will have the option to purchase a Dinner ticket. The registration will close on 24 August 2026.

Registration for the dinner is absolutely necessary because of the limited number of seats.

Payments, Booking Changes & Cancellation

Payments

The following means of payment are available for participants:

• Bank Transfer
• Payment by credit card (MasterCard and Visa Card)
• Pay Pal
  
  

Upon completion of the registration process, an electronic confirmation of the registration will be generated by the system and automatically sent to the e-mail address provided by the user. Please, do not send any payments by bank transfer without quoting the invoice number and the participant’s name included in the payment details. Payments without the required reference information cannot be processed.

Your participation can be confirmed only when the registration fees have been paid in full.

Participants whose participation fees have not been settled by the first day of the event will not be granted the entry. Please, e-mail any amendments or cancellations regarding your participation to VMSSupport@dlr.de

Cancellation

Cancellation requests should be submitted in writing by e-mail to VMSSupport@dlr.de

Please, refer to the following important cancellation deadlines for the onsite participation:

• Until 3 August 2026: 90% refund minus 50 Euro of the administration fee;
• Until 24 August 2026: 50% refund minus 50 Euro of the administration fee
• After 24 August 2026 there will be no refund.

Please, note that refunds will be made after the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials
and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET 2026).

ACCESS TO AND PUBLICATION OF TECHNICAL INFORMATION, PRESENTATIONS AND
A SELECTION OF EVENT PHOTOS FOLLOWING OF THE ECSSMET 2026

Registered participants of the ECSSMET 2026 will have access to the programme booklet incl. Abstracts shortly before the Conference. Registered participants need a password for this password-protected area of the ECSSMET 2026 website. This password will be sent by e-mail shortly before the event exclusively to all registered participants of the ECSSMET 2026.

After the Conference registered Participants of the ECSSMET 2026 will have access to the Event Photos. Registered participants need a password for this password-protected area of the ECSSMET 2026 website. This password will be sent by e-mail shortly after the event exclusively to all registered participants of the ECSSMET 2026.

The handling of personal data is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the associated legal provisions. Speakers have the opportunity to give their consent in writing on site; corresponding forms will be available at the registration desk.

Beyond this, the German Aerospace Center (DLR e.V.) will not provide any further information documents, event photos or lecture presentations (PP/PDF) after the event for publication on other public portals and information channels of the German Aerospace Center (DLR e.V.) or other external websites and tools. The German Aerospace Centre (DLR e. V.) is therefore not responsible for publication on other public portals or other external websites and tools.
