Social Programme

We are delighted to offer an attractive social programme as a part of ECSSMET 2026. Complementing the scientific sessions, the social programme provides valuable opportunities for exchange within the international spacecraft engineering and environmental testing community.

Please note
That the availability of certain Social Programme activities and booking options may vary depending on the selected registration category.
Some activities, including the Welcome Reception, may be included in certain registration categories, while in others they are available as optional add-ons.

During the registration process, participants will only be presented with the activities and services that are available and applicable to their selected registration category. Some Social Programme activities have limited capacity and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Early booking is therefore recommended.

For accompanying persons, all Social Programme activities can be booked during the registration process.

Networking Event on Soldekk

BBQ Conference Dinner

The ECSSMET 2026 Conference Dinner is designed as a BBQ evening, offering an inviting setting to continue discussions beyond the scientific programme.

By hosting the dinner directly at the conference venue, the event becomes a seamless extension of the conference experience.
Participants can transition effortlessly from the daytime programme into the evening event without the need for transfers, allowing more time for conversations and networking.

Set within the park-side environment of the hotel, the evening also offers the opportunity to wind down after a full conference day.
The BBQ setting creates a relaxed atmosphere and offers the opportunity to end a full conference day together with good food and drinks.

DLR Braunschweig Technical Tour 
Friday, 25 September 2026

The technical tour to DLR Braunschweig offers participants the opportunity to gain direct insights into the facilities and work environment of one of Europe’s leading research institutions in the field.

  • Limited capacity, (maximum of 60 participants) places are allocated on a first come, first served basis
  • If no booking option is visible during registration, the tour is already fully booked

  • Travel to the DLR site by public transport isat the participants own expense

Tour stations:

AVES Simulator Center - Institute of Flight Systems

It consists of two high-quality systems for aircraft and helicopter simulation, as well as a passenger cabin with a virtual exterior view.

Launch Coordination Center - Institute of Flight Guidance

At the Launch Coordination Center, numerous rocket launches are automatically coordinated with air and maritime traffic.

The Hangar of DLR Flight Experiments

The DLR Flight Experiments facility at the Braunschweig and Oberpfaffenhofen sites operates Europe's largest research fleet across all DLR research programs on behalf of external research institutes or industrial partners.


Please, find below some important notes for your kind consideration:

  • Access to the DLR premises is only possible with a valid ID card or passport. Driving licenses, student IDs, and residence permits will not be accepted. 
    You will receive a visitor's badge at the DLR gate which must be worn visibly for the duration of your visit to DLR and returned to the DLR gate before leaving the DLR premises.
  • It is not permitted to make any video and photo recording on the DLR premises.
  • The tour lasts approx. 2:00 h. As the grounds are rather spacious there shall be walks of up to 15 minutes in-between the various facilities. Please adjust your clothing and shoe accordingly.
  • If the weather is not perfect, umbrellas, coats and good shoes will be advisable
