Guided City Tour – Braunschweig

Participants are invited to join a guided city tour of Braunschweig as part of the ECSSMET 2026 social programme.
The tour offers a opportunity to explore the city’s rich history and cultural landmarks, providing a welcome contrast to the scientific programme.

Whether it is your first visit or a return to Braunschweig, the guided tour creates an ideal setting for exchange while experiencing the city together.

BBQ Conference Dinner

The ECSSMET 2026 Conference Dinner is designed as a BBQ evening, offering an inviting setting
to continue discussions beyond the scientific programme.

By hosting the dinner directly at the conference venue, the event becomes a seamless extension of the conference experience.
Participants can transition effortlessly from the daytime programme into the evening event without the need for transfers, allowing more time for conversations and networking.

Set within the park-side environment of the hotel, the evening also offers the opportunity to wind down after a full conference day.
The BBQ setting creates a relaxed atmosphere and offers the opportunity to end a full conference day together with good food and drinks.

DLR Braunschweig Technical Tour

Friday, 25 September 2026 | approx. 02:00 p.m. – 04:00 p.m.

The technical tour to DLR Braunschweig offers participants the opportunity to gain direct insights into the
facilities and work environment of one of Europe’s leading research institutions in the field.

• Offered free of charge
• Limited capacity – places are also allocated on a first come, first served basis
• A maximum of 20 participants
• Registration during the registration process is required
• If no booking option is visible during registration, the tour is already fully booked

Please, find below some important notes for your kind consideration:

• No transport will be provided. Public transport offers convenient access between the venue and the DLR premises.
• Access to the DLR premises is only possible with a valid ID card or passport. Driving licenses, student IDs,
  and residence permits will not be accepted. You will receive a visitor's badge at the DLR gate which must be worn
  visibly for the duration of your visit to DLR and returned to the DLR gate before leaving the DLR premises.
• It is not permitted to make any video and photo recording on the DLR premises
