Registration Guidelines for Participants
Confirmed registration is required to participate in the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET 2026) in Braunschweig, Germany.
BESL Eventagentur GmbH & Co. KG is our external partner for the participant registration and is also responsible for the invoicing and collection of participation fees. Please check the full information, fees and deadlines on this website.
We kindly ask you to provide the requested information in the required fields in the registration process.
Upon the completion of the registration process, an electronic confirmation of the registration will be generated by the system and automatically sent to the e-mail address provided by the user. Please check your spam folder.

Please note:
For all scientific events with a social programme, the German Aerospace Center is obliged to split the participation fees for the event into a VAT-exempt and a VAT-liable portion in the invoice for the conference fee, since both VAT-exempt and VAT-liable services were provided for the participation fees.
Therefore, the breakdown of the amount is for tax reasons only.
Each participant of the ECSSMET 2026 Conference can book only the complete programme of ECSSMET 2026.
As organizer and host of the ECSSMET 2026 conference we must include this information on the participation fee invoices in accordance with the German tax regulations. Every participant of this conference pays the total amount shown in the invoice (no VAT for participants).
All participants and delegates must register for the ECSSMET 2026 Conference in full according to the categories and rates outlined below.

Extra ticketed events of ECSSMET 2026
Participants (regular), keynote speaker and invited speaker and also their accompanying persons (adult and children) have the opportunity to purchase those extra tickets during the registration process.
Registration for these optional social program activities is absolutely necessary because of the limited capacity and you must pay in advance.
That the availability of certain Social Programme activities and booking options may vary depending on the selected registration category. Some activities, including the Welcome Reception, may be included in certain registration categories, while in others they are available as optional add-ons.
During the registration process, participants will only be presented with the activities and services that are available and applicable to their selected registration category.
Some Social Programme activities have limited capacity and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Early booking is therefore recommended.

Accompanying Person:
Bringing an accompanying person depends on availability. If you would like to bring an accompanying person (adult or child) to this event,
please contact vms@dlr.de to get the required registration code.
There is no standard registration package for accompanying persons.

Payments, Booking Changes & Cancellation
Payments
The following means of payment are available for participants:
- Bank Transfer
- Payment by credit card (MasterCard and Visa Card)
- Pay Pal
Upon completion of the registration process, an electronic confirmation of the registration will be generated by the system and automatically sent to the e-mail address provided by the user.
Please, do not send any payments by bank transfer without quoting the invoice number and the participant’s name included in the payment details. Payments without the required reference information cannot be processed.
Your participation can be confirmed only when the registration fees have been paid in full.
Participants whose participation fees have not been settled by the first day of the event will not be granted the entry. Please, e-mail any amendments or cancellations regarding your participation to VMSSupport@dlr.de
Terms and Conditions for Participants
By registering
you agree to the participation terms and conditions of the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET 2026). If you are registering on behalf of another individual, it is your responsibility to ensure the participating person is aware of these terms and accepts them. By completing the registration on behalf of other individuals you are warranting that you have made the participants aware of these terms and that they have accepted these terms.

Booking Changes
Booking changes for social programme activities are subject to availability.
If you wish to add a social programme activity that you have not previously booked, please contact the Conference Office by email VMSSupport@dlr.de
Please note: Booking changes are no longer possible.
Cancellation
Cancellation requests should be submitted in writing by e-mail to VMSSupport@dlr.de
Please, refer to the following important cancellation deadlines for the onsite participation:
- Until 3 August 2026: 90% refund minus 50 Euro of the administration fee;
- Until 24 August 2026: 50% refund minus 50 Euro of the administration fee;
- After 24 August 2026 there will be no refund.
Please, note that refunds will be made after the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET 2026).

Programme Booklet and the Book of Abstracts
Prior to the conference, the ECSSMET 2026 Programme Booklet and the Book of Abstracts will be made available on the ECSSMET 2026 website in a password-protected area. Only registered participants of the ECSSMET 2026 will have access to this document. To enter the sub-page, you need a password for this password protected area on the website. The password will be sent to the registered participants only ECSSMET 2026.
Manuscripts and Event Photos
Following the ECSSMET 2026 conference, the (full papers) manuscripts and the event photos will be made available in the password-protected section of the ECSSMET 2026 website no later than 9 October 2026. All registered ECSSMET 2026 conference participants will be informed by email once the materials are available.
Declaration of Consent
The handling of personal data is controlled by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and associated legislation.
Therefore, every presenter has to fill out and sign the DLR Declaration of Consent at the registration desk onsite.
